HEAD OVER HEELS, THE MUSICAL
A mash-up of posh and punk, Head Over Heels is an unpredictable romp about a royal family that must prevent the Oracle’s prophecy of doom. In order to save their beloved kingdom, the family embarks on an extravagant journey wrought with mistaken identities, jealous lovers, sexual awakening, scandal and self-discovery, where everything (and everyone) is not quite what it seems. Head Over Heels is the bold new musical comedy from the visionaries that rocked Broadway with Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Avenue Q and Spring Awakening. This laugh-out-loud love story is set to the music of the iconic 1980’s all-female rock band The Go-Go’s, including the hit songs, “We Got the Beat,” “Our Lips Are Sealed,” “Vacation,” Belinda Carlisle’s “Heaven is a Place on Earth” and “Mad About You.” A modern musical fairy tale where once-upon-a-time is right now.
“Head Over Heels is a giddy neon anthem of acceptance.” – Entertainment Weekly
“Funny and sexy with a glorious beat!” – The Village Voice
“A zippy, frothy combination of songs from the Go-Go’s and a bawdy Shakespearean comedy plot delivers goofy fun.” – The Guardian
